Eric Broockman serves Alereon as Chief Executive Officer. He comes to the Company from Legerity where he served as Vice President and General Manager of Voice over Broadband and Executive in charge of the company’s global marketing organization. Mr. Broockman has more than 23 years of leadership experience in the fabless semiconductor and communication IC industries, with specific experience in managing product development, customer and strategic marketing, branding, marketing communications and public relations. Before joining Legerity, Mr. Broockman served as CEO and president of Alchemy Semiconductor Inc., where he was instrumental in the fabless semiconductor company’s successful spin-out from Cadence Design System’s Austin Microprocessor Design Group (now part of Advanced Micro Devices), and the company’s introduction of the world’s highest performance, lowest power Internet edge processor system-on-a-chip (SOC). Prior to his tenure at Alchemy, Mr. Broockman held senior management positions at Cirrus Logic, where he was vice president and general manager of the Crystal Industrial and Communications Products Division. Before joining Cirrus Logic Mr. Broockman worked at IBM for 17 years. He held positions including DSP product line manager for IBM Microelectronics, product manager of High Bandwidth Systems, SNA architecture manager, senior technical staff member for IBM’s networking products division, and senior design engineer, with expertise in bipolar and NMOS technologies. Mr. Broockman holds eight US patents and was a National Science Foundation graduate fellow. He graduated from the University of Florida with B.S. and M.S. degrees in engineering.
